VITS and SLC VIC partner to deliver Auslan interpreting services

As part of our commitment to providing quality interpreting services across Victoria, VITS is pleased to announce to have entered into an outsourcing partnership with Sign Language Communications Victoria (SLC VIC) for all Auslan, Deaf and Deafblind interpreting.

This means that VITS will deliver all Auslan, Deaf and Deafblind interpreting through SLC VIC, recognising SLC VIC’s strong ties with the Auslan interpreting industry and the Victorian Deaf and hard of hearing community.

VITS was recently awarded three Victorian Government language services contracts – the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, Department of Health and Department of Human Services.

VITS Chief Executive Officer George Bisas welcomed the partnership arrangement with Vicdeaf.
“It is great to have SLC VIC on board to deliver these important Victorian Government contracts. They were invited to join VITS in this endeavour as they have provided high quality interpreting services to VITS for many years and are a key part of the deaf and hard of hearing community in Victoria.”

SLC VIC is a division of Vicdeaf, a progressive statewide not-for-profit service provider for Deaf and hard of hearing Victorians.
Vicdeaf Chief Executive Officer Christine Mathieson congratulated VITS on being awarded the contracts.
“SLC VIC has worked with VITS for many years, and this new partnership can only benefit Deaf and hard of hearing Victorians. To be recognised by VITS as the State’s leading provider of Auslan interpreting reflects our commitment to providing the best possible service and matching the client with the appropriate interpreter for every assignment”.
